VODAFONE MAKES STAR CHOICE FOR KIOSKS
Electronics and IT solutions provider, Integrex Limited and brand-leading POS printer manufacturer, Star Micronics, have confirmed that the TSP600 thermal printer is being standardised upon for inclusion in top-up kiosks within Vodafone's retail outlets.
Renowned for its price/performance ratio, the TSP600 thermal printer will be used within the Integrex E-TopUp kiosks in Vodafone stores nationwide to provide consumers with details on rates, offers and to confirm the details of completed transactions.
The TSP600 was chosen for its long-term reliability, high-speed (100mm per second), two-colour output and 'drop-in & print' paper loading design. In addition, Vodafone can utilise the printer's '2nd Copy Raster' feature to produce either an electronic or paper journal of the day's transactions, providing Vodafone stores with a valid audit trail.
Designed by Integrex the E-TopUp Kiosk has been developed to provide Vodafone's retail customers with a fast, easy way of buying top-up credits for their mobile phones. In transactions taking approximately 20 seconds to complete, customers insert their Vodafone swipe card, choose a top-up amount and pay using an integral bank note verifier. The kiosk communicates with Vodafone's account servers to process and authenticate the transaction and the Star TSP600 outputs the receipt.
Vodafone elected to implement kiosks within its stores as a means of optimising customer throughput and minimising queues, thereby increasing store productivity.
