Our latest generation of compact thermochromic rewritable card systems can produce cards that are tailor-made for your needs. Rewritable cards can display whatever message, graphic or photo you desire which can then be erased and re-written up to 500 times. Each time a rewritable card enters the system the front surface can be re-written in less than 5 seconds to display a new message. In a retail environment this could offer a cutting edge marketing solution with promotional messages, sophisticated graphics and text or a personalized message to the cardholder inciting further loyalty.

Typical Applications include security access/ employee time tracking systems, membership/ electronic wallets and appointment cards. Essentially, the card will “talk” to your customer on your behalf.

TCP400 Rewritable Card Printer

Compact thermal rewritable Visual Card Reader / Writer System for 760 micron cards

The TCP400 Series - ‘Credit Card’ style. This system uses 760 micron style cards which can be used with contactless IC chip card/ RFID reader/ writers. This is a thicker type of card enabling greater durability for rugged environments. The IC chip is ideal for security systems allowing employees or visitors access to the areas which you feel are appropriate. Furthermore, they can be used in an “electronic wallet” scheme thus cutting out the requirement for cash or as membership verification for social clubs and societies.

These cards can be sourced from manufacturers around the world with pricing dependent on colours used and quantities produced. In order to facilitate start-up projects, Star Micronics can provide boxes of 100 “blank” versions of these cards.

TCP300II Rewritable Card Printer

Compact thermal rewritable Visual Card Reader / Writer System for slimline cards

The TCP300II Series - The ‘Slimline Card’ Style This system uses 0.18mm to 0.26mm thick cards which therefore are perfect for wallets and purses as they take up little space and can allow for greater flexibility. Again, these cards can be re-written up to 500 times with your choice of message and/or graphics. High contrast blue or black text and graphics can be produced on any colour “Leuco” based card. White text can also be produced on glossy silver standard cards. These cards are great as appointment cards reducing the possibility of lost revenue due to forgotten appointments.
