INTELLIDENT SELECTS TSP700II FROM STAR MICRONICS FOR NEW LIBRARY KIOSK SOLUTION

Intellident has selected the TSP700II printer from Star Micronics for its self service library kiosk solution smartServe Lite™. SmartServe Lite™ is a smaller, more compact version of Intellident’s smartServe™ kiosk and allows library users to issue, renew and return items, check their account status and pay any fees using a full range of payment facilities integrated into the kiosk.

The colour and outside design of the kiosk can be customised to meet individual customer requirements and an integrated shelf is optional. The kiosk is being successfully used in public, academic and private libraries in the UK, France and the Netherlands.

The TSP700II printer is used to provide a full receipt if required by the customer following a transaction. Supplied by DED Limited, the TSP700II not only has the unique multi-functional ability to print receipts, barcodes, labels and tickets but is also capable of printing at an outstanding 250mm/second.

Further key features of this printer are its Advanced Configuration utility encompassing both simple graphic & interface management and its double density print resolution (406 x 203dpi) for high quality graphics and ID photos.

Selecting the TSP700II for use in the smartServe Lite™ kiosk came down to a few key issues. Although cost was a consideration, the main issues for Intellident were ease of use, form-factor and reliability.
