STAR MICRONICS RECEIVES ‘TOP PRODUKT HANDEL 2010’ AWARD FROM HANDELSJOURNAL MAGAZINE FOR TSP800 SERIES

International POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Top Produkt Handel award for the second year running by leading retail business publication Handelsjournal. In 2009, Star Micronics received the award for its TSP100 futurePRNTTM series while in 2010 its TSP800 series was amongst the winners.

With a circulation around 52,000 copies, Handelsjournal invited its readers to vote for the best product in five categories. Star Micronics was amongst the winners of 15 awards, receiving a Gold Award in the ‘Wirtschaftlichkeit’ (Economy) category and a Silver Award in the ‘Umweltfreundlichkeit’ (Environmental friendliness) category for its TSP800 series.

Reducing IT costs and lowering carbon footprint are at the top of the agenda for retailers and hoteliers of all sizes. Recognising this, Star Micronics has developed a range of direct thermal printers that allow both these criteria to be met. With reduced power, paper, maintenance and consumable costs as well as a first page out time of less than one second compared with an average of 22 seconds for a typical A4 laser printer, there certainly are no compromises.
