STAR MICRONICS RECEIVES "TOP PRODUKT HANDEL 2009" AWARD FROM HANDELSJOURNAL MAGAZINE FOR TSP100 futurePRNT™ SERIES
April 2009
Leading international POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Top Produkt Handel 2009 award for its revolutionary TSP100 futurePRNTTM series by leading retail business publication Handelsjournal.
Published by Hauptverband des Deutschen Einzelhandels (HDE), Handelsjournal launched a competition in December 2008 inviting readers to vote for the best product in five categories. Star Micronics was amongst the winners of 15 awards, receiving a Silver Award in the ‘Sales Promotion’ category and a Bronze Award in the ‘Efficiency’ category for its TSP100 futurePRNT series.
Launched in 2005 the TSP100 futurePRNT series, renowned for its revolutionary software, quality hardware and entry-level price, clearly stands apart from its peers by setting new standards in point-of-sale printing technology. Its range of outstanding features is not only visible from the outside in terms of its sleek design but also from within given its highly advanced technology that provides the end user with a high performance printing solution.
The TSP100GT futurePRNT, for example, is a unique printer encased in a full gloss casing in a choice of ‘piano black’ or ‘ice white’, making this printer the perfect accessory for the style conscious retailer while offering an unrivalled 250mm/second print speed that will ensure outstanding customer throughput. Furthermore, the flexibility of Ethernet has traditionally come at a cost but the TSP100 series defies this with the world’s first dedicated entry-level Ethernet printer that provides high speed, long distance and reliable communication accompanied by new and powerful features.
All printers in the series offer value-added software tools provided at no extra cost, not to mention ‘intuitive’ compatibility with the majority of operating platforms, providing the end user with a wealth of additional benefits. Converting the standard POS printer into an effective and invaluable marketing tool can provide significant advantages in terms of improving the bottom line. Working alongside existing POS software, these software tools allow for the easy customisation of receipts and fast focused marketing campaigns. As a result, retailers can literally re-design receipts by modifying fonts, inserting logos or watermarks and automatically add coupons based on the retailer’s pre-decided products or purchase values relevant to a specific transaction. To enhance ease of installation, all printer and futurePRNT software settings are stored on the PC and can be easily distributed as an .xml file to all relevant PCs in the case of mass system installations. And, with all set-up accessories included in the box at purchase, a feature unique to this printer series, the TSP100 futurePRNT provides the end user with a printer that is not only ready to install and use but also one which is extremely cost effective.
