Star Micronics today announces the worldwide launch of its pioneering thermal receipt printer, the TSP100 futurePRNT. Designed to meet the needs of a wide variety of applications, the TSP100 redefines the extent of Star’s large printer portfolio by not only setting new standards in point-of-sale printing but also introducing features unseen to date in this marketplace.

The TSP100, a full speed low cost USB printer, reflects the expertise and attention to detail devoted to product design that is synonymous with Star. Revolutionising point-of-sale printer technology, Star has designed a printer that is capable of printing receipts at an exceptional throughput speed regardless of font used or whether graphics are included. As a result, users can now truly take advantage of modern TrueTypeTM fonts and not lose print speed. In fact, a new standard to measure print speed has now been set which more realistically reflects the true output speed. Based on this measurement, the TSP100 is the first printer in the industry to print TrueType fonts and graphics at the same speed as ‘internal fonts’.

With all accessories and software included in one box, the TSP100 represents a high quality point-of-sale printer offering exceptional value for money. In addition to providing ‘intuitive’ compatibility for Microsoft applications including Java-POSTM and OPOSTM with Microsoft certification (WHQL), all printer features are available from the printer’s properties page in WindowsTM thus enabling all settings to be stored on the PC and easily mirrored across other TSP100 printers in the case of mass system installations.
