RAW TALENT
Star help Feng Sushi to deliver the goods

Sushi is fast becoming the Londoners' choice for a quick, healthy and exotic meal. As time and easy accessibility are ever of the essence, the pioneering moves by Jeremy Rose to establish a sushi take away and delivery service, have proved to be extremely successful. Feng Sushi first opened its doors in Fulham in June last year, with a further two outlets quickly following.

Coining the phrase, "If our fish was any fresher, you would have to slap it," the concept behind the Feng Sushi service is to provide fresh sushi primarily fish, vegetables, spices and seaweed - made-to-order, from a vast menu selection. Eight motorbike delivery drivers deliver sushi cartons to customers within minutes of their telephone order being taken, further underscoring the feel good factor associated with good sushi.

"We needed a system that could provide us with historical customer order information, addresses and other personal details simply from their postcode," says proprietor, Rose. His requirement was also for a fast, reliable matrix printer, that would quickly output details of the order and its associated payment terms and delivery details to multi-part paper, providing one copy for business audit and credit card payments and a second one for the kitchen and subsequently, the delivery driver. "The whole system has to be fast, effective and reliable. The printed receipts are an essential element in achieving our objectives, providing everyone involved with clear, easily understood instructions."

Across all three Feng Sushi outlets, Rose has implemented a fully automated system devised by Integer, a systems integrator whose solutions have been proven across multiple pizza delivery franchises. Touch screens increase ease of use and SP200 matrix printers are used to output the receipts. Rose particularly values the ability to quickly and clearly print out lots of information and the choice of typefaces available from the SP200. In essence, Rose describes his service as "merging the best technology with the best ingredients to deliver fast, good quality sushi without being too precious!"

A relative newcomer to the market, sushi is already the fourth largest take-out in the US, a trend that Rose believes will be shortly seen here. With his fresh approach to food, as well as service, he's ready for it!
