From 1st January 2002, the Euro will become legal tender in many European countries

Star has prepared for the introduction of the EURO so that our printers will be "EURO ready". In printers which have various code pages available, the Euro symbol can be accessed in code page 858 in position D5. For older models, which only have an International character set controlled by DIP switch, the symbol will usually be in another location. Please contact technical support for the location in each printer family.

In addition, most of our printers are able to drive 2 cash drawers, which will enable retailers to deal with both the EURO and national currencies being in operation when the EURO is first introduced. Star cash drawers are also available with a EURO cash tray insert, specifically designed for EURO notes and coins.
