NEW ‘AUTOLOGO’ TRANSPOSES POS PRINTER INTO POWERFUL
MARKETING TOOL

manufacturer, Star Micronics has announced today a second generation
of AutoLogo™ for retailers: a simple but sophisticated function
that transposes a receipt printer into a powerful marketing tool,
without the need for specialist training, IT support or system
software changes.
Developed by Star Micronics as an integral facility
within its flagship TSP700 printer, Windows™-based AutoLogo
has been designed to enable retailers to automatically attribute
coupons, advertisements and vouchers to receipts relating to their
chosen products. A ground-breaking innovation at its original
launch, this second generation of AutoLogo, has been distinctly
enhanced by being made even easier to use. Now wizard-driven,
the new version of AutoLogo includes step-by-step guidelines,
preset templates and style guides as well as instruction prompts
to quickly and easily develop coupons and vouchers that are output
to receipts according to relevant product sales at POS, enabling
even an inexpert user to implement and cease receipt-printed promotions
at whim.
Trialled by retailers globally, the original
AutoLogo utility provided a means of implementing marketing initiatives
that were responsive to external market forces, customers’
buying trends and stock movements. Up to 15 marketing messages
can be assigned at any one time to one or several products by
simply attributing a two-digit code to the product description
in the user’s normal database. Coupons, vouchers and adverts
produced can easily include eye-catching graphics and distinctive
fonts to draw customers’ attention.
Like its predecessor, the new version of AutoLogo
is included within the TSP700 printer as a standard feature. Renowned
for its high speed and application versatility, the TSP700 now
offers its users a powerful but simple marketing facility in addition
to the versatility of outputting labels, tickets, barcodes and
receipts.
