Document Capture
Some applications need to ensure that any unwanted documents are retrieved for security reasons as well as ensuring that the kiosk is not surrounded by unwanted receipts or printouts. The document capture function can automatically retrieve unwanted print-outs after a pre-selected time period, and drop them into a secure disposal bin within the kiosk.
Easy Paper Loading
All Star printers have full or semi-automatic paper loading. The TUP900 incorporates a “lift & tilt” mechanism with front access to simply insert the paper for automatic paper loading. Star’s packaged printers have Clamshell™ design, “Drop-In & Print” paper loading.
Jam-free operation with the unique Star Presenter
The unique Star presenter protects the variable length document during the printing process from any customer contact by looping the paper within the printer and "presenting" it after the receipt, ticket or document has been printed and cut. The printer is therefore protected if the paper is pulled before it has finished printing or been cut.
Paper Sensors
Paper end sensors and paper low detectors, included as standard in the majority of Star kiosk printers, provide early warning of error situations keeping the kiosk running smoothly. Black Mark sensors on some models enable tickets and other fixed length documents to be printed.
Scalable Raster Driver for A4 to virtual A6 output
The new Scalable Raster Driver available on the TUP900 and TSP800 provides the ability to format a page or screen image in the same way as a standard PC printer and then print that image on 112mm wide paper up to 0.15mm thick. Ideal for printing screen output including web pages and maps.
Star Driver / Operating Platform Support
Star continues to invest money and effort towards providing support for a wide selection of platforms with a full range of sophisticated printer drivers. Star’s latest products demonstrate Star’s determination to provide the best printers on the market with new “intuitive” installation software for Microsoft applications including Java-POS and OPOS with Microsoft certification (WHQL) for XP and Vista as well as POS.Net, XP Embedded, CE and WePOS.
Star Ethernet Interface
Useful in a network environment, the low cost Star Ethernet Interface offers an industry standard UTP connection using TCP/IP. The Star Ethernet Interface has its own web server, where clients can interrogate and check printer status.

Star has combined its POS expertise within its kiosk printer range to provide free-of-charge software and utilities for instant and simple couponing, graphic or logo placement on receipts and other printed output.
