GW TAYLOR: PRESCRIBING A STAR DOSAGE
East Midlands Pharmacy Group Opts for Combination Printer from Brand Leader, Star Micronics
Independent pharmacy group, GW Taylor Limited, has chosen the Star Micronics SCP700 thermal receipt/matrix label combination printer to equip its network of nearly 40 'Manor Pharmacy' chemists, it was confirmed in an announcement today.
The group's pharmacies, located in major towns and city suburbs in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, will be using the SCP700 point-of-sale printers primarily for patient prescription labels, anticipating output of more than 1000 labels daily.
The only printer developed specifically for pharmacies, the SCP700 is capable of simultaneously printing medication labels (thermal) as well as prescription verification or other multi-part documents (matrix impact), offering the potential of replacing two printers with one. Julie Wright, IT manager for GW Taylor Limited, explained the company's selection of the printer, "The SCP700 is fast, quiet and very neat. It takes up very little space in what is often a crowded environment and is inexpensive. It is the only printer available that was designed specifically for pharmacies and we were impressed by its multi-purpose capabilities."
Printing at 16.7 lines per second, the Star Micronics SCP700 is also designed for longevity and reliability, offering 10 million lines MCBF (mean cycles before failure).
Manor Pharmacy is the trading name for GW Taylor Limited, an independent family owned business serving communities in the east Midlands. Established over 60 years ago, GW Taylor's aim is to provide pharmaceutical healthcare of the highest quality to both the public and fellow healthcare professionals.
